For one week each season, schools, coaches and players play for more than a win. They are playing together against a common enemy - cancer.
The Coaches vs. Cancer "Suits And Sneakers Week" is a nationwide event. Basketball coaches across the country unite for a common cause – saving lives from cancer!
Coaches and their staff wear sneakers with their suits during games. It helps to raise awareness and save lives from cancer. They raise funds and encourage people to educate themselves about cancer prevention, screening, and early detection.
Vallivue High School in Caldwell, Idaho has embraced the cause. Head Coach Ryan Lundgren and his Falcons are doing their part. Through various efforts, they raise money for cancer-stricken families in their school district. It is an incredible community effort.
In addition, the school uses a home game to wear pink and create even more awareness.
Vallivue is one of several schools in Idaho that take part in the battle against this horrible disease.
